PRX Gets Its Caffeine ON

Hi friend of PRX,

Welcome to the New Year. What day is it?

If your mental crankcase is a bit sluggish, join the club. But let PRX jolt you to a high-powered start. From a new special on post-Soviet millennials (with WNYC’s Brooke Gladstone) to some new selections for Black History Month and inauguration day, we’re here to help surprise listeners.

And keep an ear open for a lot of new programs and pieces from our Global Story Project competition. We’re especially moved by the story of a woman who set out to do something good for others every day for a whole year. That’s a great way to welcome 2013!

Generation Putin

Young people and change

What’s happening in post-Soviet Russia? Unemployment. Crime. Dissent. Greed. All of these add up to an international challenge facing President Obama in his second term.

Generation Putin, coming soon, is an hour on young people and politics in the former Soviet Union. Hosted by Brooke Gladstone and freshly reported by the Seattle Globalist. Promos are up!

The special might be most relevant to stations in cities with high Russian populations.
