PRX Gives Thanks
|
Hi friend of PRX,
We drove by modest Plymouth Rock this summer — over 300 years ago, it must have been a pretty desolate place to land after months of seasickness.
Native Americans were already here and had turned New England’s fields and woods into a thriving society. The rest is history, myth, memory. Thus launches the season of eating and cooking and, oh yes, deep gratitude.
If we could, we would serve you each pie for dessert…
-John

Radio Diaries
Revisits teen diarists
|
Since 1996, Joe Richman has been giving tape recorders to young people around the country to document their lives.
|
|
In December of 2012, Radio Diaries will revisit five of these original diarists 16 years after their first recordings.
Like the stories of Josh, a boy with Tourette’s; Amanda, a young woman trying to get her parents to accept her sexuality; or Melissa, a teen mom coming out of the foster care system.
Stay tuned!
