Got great audio?
Internationally minded audio-makers, PRX wants YOU to apply to our Global Story Project funded by the Open Society Foundations. This is an open call.
Funding is available for multiple groundbreaking stories about people and situations outside of the U.S. that will help American listeners better understand the rest of the world.
PRX will accept applications:
- to complete original works
- to reversion or update prior works or archival material
- to adapt and complete works based on other media that could work as audio productions.
Don’t be shy! We know you have great ideas. Apply by Oct. 15: official announcement and the application details and entry form.
Kickstarter presents a huge opportunity to get funding outside of the traditional channels! Check out our FAQ and let us know if you have a project or are planning to do one.
Not Just Broadcast
PRX has a growing number of non-broadcast groups and int’l networks purchasing work for higher amounts. Send your profile to Radio New Zealand and the Outer Voices podcast. Opt-in to these groups and more under your Outside Purchaser Preferences in MyPRX.
Since the last issue of Sync, we’ve had the privilege of seeing producer Jeff Cohen’s piece about his daughter’s sibling-haircut gone wrong go viral more than once on Gawker, Yahoo, ABC News, and more. AND he got a two-book deal with HarperCollins.
Check out what it looks like to go viral (and how to do it!) and an interview with Jeff on his process.
Our project to support youth producers, Generation PRX, has a shiny new website with easier sharing features and better integration of the PRX audio player.
