PRX Tells Stories
Hi friend of PRX,
Great storytelling is what made our ancestors gather around a fire after a day of slaying woolly mammoths. And it’s what makes us now turn up the iPod or listen in the driveway after a day of tackling the to-do list.
Which is a way of saying welcome to The Moth Radio Hour. We’re proud to launch this new public radio series full of stories told well. Funny, sad, poignant, amazing — and true. No scripts. Recorded live. The essence of public radio. Jay Allison did the heavy lifting.
“I think it’s the next big huge hit in public radio.” -Garrison Keillor
“I was going to say this is public radio’s next huge hit, but I guess Garrison Keillor beat me to that.” -Ira Glass
The Moth Radio Hour pilot season includes five programs that showcase the very best stories told live at The Moth, which has been staging live storytelling shows since 1997. Each program is 54 minutes long, is newscast compatible, and includes two 1-minute floating ID breaks.
All about The Moth: Hear and download the programs and promos, read broadcast details, meet the hosts, and learn about live events.
